Basset Hound Clubs
We at Woebgon Bassets are proud to be members of the following basset hound clubs. These clubs promote purebred basset hounds and do a lot to help protect and preserve our wonderful breed. We encourage all basset hound owners to get involved with the national club and/or their local basset hound club.
The objects of the Club shall be:
(a) to encourage and promote quality in the selective breeding of pure-bred Basset Hounds and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection.
(b) to encourage the organization of local Basset Hound Clubs in those areas where there are sufficient fanciers of the breed to meet the requirements of the American Kennel Club, and to assist them in their activities.
(c) to urge members, breeders, and judges to accept the Standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which Basset Hounds shall be judged.
(d) to do all in its power to protect the interests of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at Conformation, Companion, and Performance events, and to conduct such events under the rules and regulations of the American Kennel Club and/or the Basset Hound Club of America, Inc.
(e) to encourage and assist rescue operations that involve the Basset

A. THE PURPOSE OF THIS CLUB SHALL BE TO ENCOURAGE AND PROMOTE THE OWNERSHIP AND BREEDING OF PURE-BRED BASSET HOUNDS; AND TO DO ALL POSSIBLE TO BRING THEIR NATURAL QUALITIES TO PERFECTION BY WORKING FOR THE CONTINUING IMPROVEMENT OF THE BREED.
B. TO DO ALL IN ITS POWER TO PROTECT AND ADVANCE THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE BREED BY EXAMPLE AND EDUCATION; BY ENCOURAGING SPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT AT DOG SHOWS AND TRIALS; BY COOPERATING WITH SHOW HOLDING ORGANIZATIONS; AND BY OFFERING PRIZES.
The Basset Hound Club of Southern California, Inc. officially became a club in 1951. It is a licensed Club of the American Kennel Club and a member club of the Basset Hound Club of America.
The Greater San Diego Basset Hound Club was established by basset hound enthusiasts residing in San Diego, California. It is a licensed Club of the American Kennel Club and a member club of the Basset Hound Club of America.
The Basset Hound Club of America, Inc. officially was recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1935 as the "Parent Club" for basset hounds in the Unites States.. It is a licensed Club of the American Kennel Club and a member club of the Basset Hound Club of America.
This group consists of a group of basset hound breeders and owners. The club holds several annual events for basset hounds.

The Basset Hound Club is a Kennel Club registered society, abiding with their guidelines. All shows are held in accordance with Kennel Club rules and regulations and endorse good canine practices as promoted by the Kennel Club We firmly believe in our hounds being fit for function, fit for life. The aim of the Basset Hound Club is to provide knowledge and education to ensure Basset Hounds live happy, healthy lives with responsible owners.
The Basset Hound Club of America is a member club of the American Kennel Club (AKC). They are dedicated to following the AKC Mission Statement. The American Kennel Club is dedicated to upholding the integrity of its Registry, promoting the sport of purebred dogs and breeding for type and function. Founded in 1884, the AKCĀ® and its affiliated organizations advocate for the purebred dog as a family companion, advance canine health and well-being, work to protect the rights of all dog owners and promote responsible dog ownership.
