The Greater San Diego Basset Hound Club was established by basset hound enthusiasts residing in San Diego, California. It is a licensed Club of the American Kennel Club and a member club of the Basset Hound Club of America.

The club hosts two of their own Specialty Shows each year in May. They also hold two field trials for basset hounds. In addition to these events the GSDBHC hosts and AKC Meet the Breeds booth every year at the Silver Bay Kennel Club of San Diego Shows held each February at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. Membership is limited to those who show their basset hounds or participate in the performance events.
