Woebgon Bassets Had Another Great Year

The 2012 BHCSC Specialty Shows were another highlight for Woebgon Bassets. We are very excited at the outcome. Thank you to all our friends, breeders and other exhibitors for all your support.

The weekend started out on Saturday with GCh. Ch. Woebgon’s Kickapoo Joy Juice winning the Veteran Sweepstakes. Immediately following that the club had it’s annual Title Parade for basset hounds who earned new Championships since the previous Specialty. Joy received a ribbon for her Grand Championship and three of her kids, Doc, Miss Sassy and Seymour received ribbons for their Championships. We finished off the day with both Doc, Ch. Woebgon’s Doc Howliday, and Miss Sassy, Ch. Woebgon’s Dodge City Sarsaparilla, receiving an Award of Merit from breeder/judge Sandra Johnston from Scotland.

Sunday started out slowly. While the weather was beautiful when rain was predicted we didn’t pick up any wins. That all came to an abrupt end. As the bassets entered the show ring for Best of Breed judging the rain started and continued throughout the judging. We tried not to let the rain damper our spirits and were awarded for our fortitude. Ch. Woebgon’s Dodge City Sarsaparilla was awarded Select Bitch for her third major toward her Grand Championship and we topped off the weekend when Ch. Woebgon’s Doc Howliday was selected for Best of Breed under breeder/judge Diane Foote. No, it doesn’t get any better than that.
